Class Info

All NEW projects for returning students! This not your normal math class! We will explore the mathematical principles made visible in flowers, shells, crystals, plants, the human body, art and architecture. We will identify geometric patterns that recur throughout the universe and underlie our culture. How is a snowflake like Stonehenge and a beehive like a calendar? How does the spiral of a seashell relate to the proportions of the Parthenon? We will create hands-on projects that explore these relationships. Join us as we uncover wondrous connections and create new ones as we fall in love with math through the practice of art. REQUIRED: Drawing compass, ruler or straight edge, blank paper, scissors, tape, pencil with eraser.

Cancellation Policy

  • We can provide a full refund (minus any service charges) if we get notice of cancellation at least two weeks before the start date of the class.

  • If you need to cancel less than two weeks before the start date:

    • We will do our best to fill the spot with another student.  

    • If we are able to fill the spot, we can provide a full refund (minus any service charges).  

    • If we cannot fill the spot, the family is responsible to pay the class fees.
